Not being able to wash your hair is a HUGE misconception. You do have to take some caution, but you can wash your hair and they won't fall out. The best and most expensive is the fusion technique. It is the way Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, and Brittany Spears get their hair done. Next option, and cheaper is getting the hair sewn in. Your hair is cornrowed (braided) to your scalp in certain sections and the extensions are sewn onto that braid. It's less expensive than the fusion technique. Most stylist will give you a free consult, so go for it!

try glueing in or clipping. Sally's has a great selection. I personally have glued before and it worked fine for me as long as you don't rip the hair out when it comes time to taking it out.

i have only ever used glue ins with them u just buy the hair and the glue and simply just glue them to ur hair near to the scalp but not touching it....they are pretty easy to use....i dont no where u could get them from i got mine from a local wig shop if u have a local wig shop id try going in there coz they will advice u aswell and they will match the extenssions up to ur colour hair....good luck xx

Do NOT glue in the extensions. That will ruin your hair when you take them out, trust me!

I would get individuals or get a weft and have them sew it in. Clip ins are okay but if you don't wanna mess with putting them in everyday, i'd go with the more permanent type.

Hair extensions aren't something you want to play around with. Clip ins aren't really harmful, but if you went far enough to get them bonded or sewn in, doing it the wrong way can damage your hair. It's best to ask someone for a referral who has extensions. That way you'll know that the person has experience and has done a good job in the past, so you're hair will come out looking it's best. They are pretty expensive, but it's worth it. If all you want to do is buy a few clips of colored hair and put them in, then that is something you may be able to do by yourself. BUT as always, it's better to have professional help.

I use hair extensions that come in a long strip with little clips along the strip. You'll need about 4 depending on the thickness of your hair.

I bought mine from sally express (called american dream I think) for about 鎷?5 each, and they are fab, they've lasted me 2 and a half years. It's human hair, you can cut them, curl them, wash them and dye them!!!

When you get them they will need cut, so once you manage to get them in, go to a hairdressers and they will tidy up the ends. Remember the order you take them out in especially if you get them layered, because they will have to go back in in the same order (the longer extensions will be put in last)

Take your fingers on either side of your ears and take a line of hair from the top of your ears, dipping down and round to the nape of your neck and tie the rest up. You can check in the mirror to see if it's even.

Then clip the extensions in and repeat with another section above, leaving about an inch between each extension. The reason it's better to dip down towards the nape of the neck is because it hides your natural hair underneath better, especially if your real hair is a shoulder length or shorter.

I'm not sure about Sallys. But a great way to do extensions is Great Lengths. Its costly but in the long run is the very best way to go. I've worked in a salon for 5 years that has done Great Lengths and they are gorgeous. They look so real and are individual pieces of hair attached to your hair. I know a girl who had hair extentions put in. they looked pretty real and I never herd her say she had any trouble with them falling out. That being said, the poor girl chewed on her hair, and because of the extentions ended up with a bowel and collon obstruction she got very sick and lost 25 Lbs in a few weeks, she ended up in the hospital for a few weeks as well. If you do get extentions be absolutly sure not to chew on your hair! if your a compulsive person I don't recommend them.

The hair:

Try and get 100% human hair as it is easy to style and acts like your own. They have 8 inch, 10 inch and 18 inch in stores. A package costs 10 to 30$ and you only need one! (trust me there is a lot in there)

Get the same color as the hair you buy or else it looks funny. They come in a 3 pack and are 2$ each. You need about 3 packs of them.

You will need a needle and sizzors too.

How to make them:

Open up the bought hair and marvel at how weird it looks on one long strand-pretend it is a beard, be a nut. lol

Measure TWICE the length or the clip (you double it over to sew) and then cut.

Fold hair over and pinch the seam tight.

Sew hair onto clip making sure the comb is not hidden under the hair- comb side is back side, sew to front side. There are holes to sew to so it is easy. Do easy sewing loops. Make sure hair lyes flat.

Make 5 to 10 of them. It will take you 1 to 2 hrs but you will have them forever so just tough it out.

How to wear?

Part your hair roughly so that 1/20th of it is at bottom (pull up most of it with a clip)

start at one end and comb and snap them in a row.

Let hair down. If they are too long take off and cut them down as you would normal hair.

If you want more, part hair so that 1/15 th is down make a new row.

You can try some on the sides, here and there see what works.

Check with mirror to make sure no show.

You can spray this hair, straight iron it, curl it- it if is real hair that you bought.

If they get loose just un-snap, re-comb in closer to head and snap closed.

Have fun, you can have new highlights every day- black, red, blonde, brown whatever!

Hi. I own a set of Remy 20 inch human hair extensions. They are FAB!!! The set I have is 8 pieces in different widths in #4 -medbrown. I actually purchased them on ebay last year for $150. As long as you take good care of them they can last for a long time. You cannot sleep in them %26amp; you must condition, condition,condition!!! Since they do not get any of you own hair's natural oils, they tend to dry out unless you CONDITION them. I say go for it!!! You'll love them. If you like having your hair highlighted or lo lighted but don't want the damage then these are great for that look and they only take about 5 min to put them in and take them out! Easy up keep and really fun for a night out! But if you're getting synthetic you can't put a curling iron or any kind of hair appliance to it! They will burn and break off. But they are just super fun!

I recently had my hair cut short in the front. My hair is a bit past shoulder length on the sides, but the front strands were about 2 or 3 inches longer. I had the front ones cut into short graduated layers; most of them come about half way down my cheek. I absolutely hate it! Is there anyway to get my long hair back in the front until it grows back? I live in south florida by Port saint lucie, if anybody could reccomend anywhere for me it would be appreciated!

I'm sorry you are so unhappy with your hair cut. Extensions can be creatively used to improve your look. Find an experience salon because they are hardest to do in front.

Another solution you might try is to sweep your layers back away from your face. You could put them in a pony tail holder to keep them back. There are also lots of beautiful clips in the grocery stores and beauty supply stores that could be used to hold your bangs back out of your face until they get longer.

You will be told there are ways to get your hair to grow back faster using pills or nutrition. You won't. Nutrition helps those who are very ill, but even then the studies are not confirming results in hair growth. Hair grows 1/2" a month, with a barely noticeable slowing in February and increase in August.

hair extensions are bad for your hair, they cause breakage and can rip your hair out. i would recommend finding a style you can live with til your hair grows back, it really shouldn't take too long, i cut my hair to my ears and it was back to my shoulders within the year.

I also know that you shouldn't ever use any type of heating appliance on synthetic hair....you probably already know that. I hope that this information helps, good luck!.....................

The proper care of your hairpiece will keep it looking like new. Most women find it best to have a second hairpiece to use while allowing the proper time for cleaning and drying their first hairpiece.

Step 1: use a shampoo specifically formulated to clean wigs, such as Texturizing Cleanser for synthetic hair. In a sink or basin, mix a capful of wig shampoo in cool water and immerse your hairpiece. Let soak for a few minutes. Agitate gently and rinse in cool water until all shampoo is removed.

Step 2: Refill the sink or basin with clean, cool water and add a few drops of wig conditioner. Immerse hairpiece and agitate gently. DO NOT RINSE OUT CONDITIONER. Remove hairpiece and gently comb through any tangles. Blot dry in a towel and then gently shake.

Step 3: Allow your hairpiece to air dry on a wig stand or on top of a hairspray canister. Comb add-ons can be hung on a clothes line or hanger, with the combs locked together. DO NOT BRUSH OR STYLE THE HAIRPIECE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY.

Step 4: Once dry, you will notice that the original style of your hairpiece has come back.

I would highly suggest buying clip in hair extensions over the Internet! =)

The ones they sell in stores are cheap and don't last very long, although those sold on the Internet are usually real hair, which blends in better with your own hair, and you can wash it to make sure its clean and whatnot, and even re-dye it if you want.

I wouldn't think that there would be any in china town, but if your certain you do not want to buy them over the Internet, maybe try places that sell shampoos and conditioners, the extensions are usually located near the front of the shampoos and conditioners if the shop sells them. =)

Everyone I know that has had hair extensions has taken them out after a few weeks as they are just so annoying. I did mine myself and spent hours trying to pull them out. Most hairdresser's will do wild colours but not sure it's worth the pain and money. Try a semi highlighting kit?!

You can buy human hair at any Sally's. They come in wefts which you can cut into smaller strips but they also clip in human which I reccomend because they are easier to deal with. They come in a package with wefts (the strips) Buy them in the lightest blonde they have because it will be easier to color rather than buty black and try to color them purple and then go to your local Wal-Mart, Target, ect and buy some cheap hair dye and color them yourself. Because they are human you can color them and use hot tools on them. Almost all packages of hair extensions come with two small strips which are for coloring or whatever so use those to see how they will look before you color the rest of your wefts. Just so you know if you get the non clip in you willl have to glue them in which I recoomend having a friend help you and its a BIG pain to get them out. But its worth it to have beautiful long locks with added colors for your funky self. The human hair in both clip in and regular runs about $80

If you are asking what kind of damage it does to your scalp, there is no difference! If you have a healthy scalp, you have healthy hair. If you glue extensions onto your scalp, you are impeding the natural growth of your hair. You are doing this by clogging up the follicles with the glue for the extensions, or tracks! This will lead to excessively oily hair.

It just all depends on your real hair. Is it thick, thin, straight, wavy, curly? Depending on your hair color, you might have to darken it with a semi permanent color to get it to match. Curly hair is easier to match because it is less noticeable. I don't recommend the glue on types because they can damage your hair and break it off. If you know someone who can cornrow hair, you are better off. This is when they make small braids across the back of your head and sew the pieces on. This type is much better. As for your question I would try thin first and then go a layer more if you think it will look better. You can try this with a clip until you get the right thickness. Also make sure you get 100% human hair. Cutical hair is best as it is selected and treated so that the cutical goes in one direction.Synthetic hair is very cheap but looks like a shredded plastic bag. Anyway, here are two websites that are decent priced. I am not a hairdresser, but I wore extensions for 7 years. The first time I went to a salon. After that I did them at home myself with the glue (big mistake). The next times I had my daughter do the braided ones for me (good choice). Also, they sell hair by the bushel and for a whole head you may need two. I use to just get one bushel and it was enough. Also you might want to try the clip on hair pieces too.

what you need to do is:

*put the top layer (and make it kinda thick) up into a clip.

*and clip them in right at the root under were u hav the layer clipped up..right under the hair you hav up!

*I dont know what kind of clips you hav but mine you just push them in the middle and they open up and the same thing for closing them too

Just make sure you clip it as close to the roots of your hair as possible. Flip your hair over and have a friend, sister, or your mom do it for you. It's hard to do it yourself.

you would be amazed and what can be done with hair extension. there are so many techniques. you ca hair to you knees. they can give you a Halley berry style with out cutting your hair. if you just want extension for more fullness it can be done, or if you just want it a bit longer it can be done. just remember it is NOT CHEAP.

The only hair extensions I've seen that come in actual white is the kanekalon (synthetic hair) the ahir color is called WHITE sometimes SNOW WHITE but only comes in bulk (for braiding or making dreads or making hand-tied weft)

go to a wig shop and buy a platinum wig, or go to paulayoung.com and buy one from there. If you find a Sallys you can buy some real hair tracks that you can bleach yourself, but it will most likely jack them up.

I use hair extensions that come in a long strip with little clips along the strip. You'll need about 4 depending on the thickness of your hair.

When you get them they will need cut, so once you manage to get them in, go to a hairdressers and they will tidy up the ends. Remember the order you take them out in especially if you get them layered, because they will have to go back in in the same order (the longer extensions will be put in last)

Take your fingers on either side of your ears and take a line of hair from the top of your ears, dipping down and round to the nape of your neck and tie the rest up. You can check in the mirror to see if it's even.

Then clip the extensions in and repeat with another section above, leaving about an inch between each extension. The reason it's better to dip down towards the nape of the neck is because it hides your natural hair underneath better, especially if your real hair is a shoulder length or shorter.

Ok, I'm not a guy but I have the same issue, I use hair extensions and they look great, but some guys are like "what"? in a video, hannabeth mentioned that her extensions are sewn in. and audrey's hair is all fake i think, except for some of the underneath black that she used to have. you never see her have lots of roots. made especially clear in the photos from warped tour. i doubt she did her hair while on tour so you'd think you'd see at least more significant roots.

i think she wears some kind of top wig (that goes to her shoulders) over her black hair. she probably bleaches it and dyes it pink. and then attaches longer extensions underneath it. but now, it looks to me like she has dyed some of her natural hair pink, so it's a little harder to see where the wig starts now.

in the following pictures you can see what i mean. the pink wig on top sits above her black hair. and look at the top of her head. it doesn't look like real scalp.

I have been getting sew in extension for over a year witout perming my hair, except for a little bit of the front. I think it's great cause it's easy to take care of and you redo it every two monthes. The only downfall was when I finally decided to give my hair a break, i noticed how long it grew but it was a lot thinner. This is beacuse the hear doesn't get o breath as much so it thinned out but it grew because me real hair was braided all the time. I have been looking into clip in hair extensions now because you get to take them off to properly treat your hair on a weekly basis and your hair will really breath, therefore growing storonger. I haven't gotten my extensions yet because they cost 3x what I would pay for one sew in hair do. I did some research and came across this site where the products are sold by a black woman who understands black hair. i have extensions and i do the sew in ones. they make a few braids that wrap around my head, like corn rolls.?? anyways, they take human hair on a big strand and sew it really tight along the braid. its awesome. it hurts a bit but its worth it. mine stay in about 3 to 4 months if you get a check up.
