What is the bad and the good sides of getting hair extension?
This depends on the type of hair extensions you are getting. The permanent glue fusion is the most damaging, because the glue is hard it can cause breakage. The semi-permanent glue fusion is less damaging becaus the glue stays softer and you have less damage. The sew-in and clip-on have no damage at all unless they are miss-used(left in too long or allowed to tangle). The good side is that you can experience a good deal of growth while you have the extensions. However, none of these methods will work for extremely thin hair( thinning hair) they would be much to obvious. Instead, I would suggest using an integration wig piece or an integration quick weave. Both are like a wig but much more breathable and realistic.

I am sorry, but I don't have experience. I chickened out of hair extensions b/c I heard it damages your roots and increases permanent hair loss (b/c of the tension)

The good thing is you would look fabulous, the bad thing is you might not look right.
