Are hair extension the new thing?

they are NOT the "new thing". you can tell they are fake. or at least i can.

Are hair extension the new thing?

Hair extensions are not new, they have been popular a few years now. The look at the moment is short stylish bobs i think. Most professional salons do hair extensions, so look in your phone book or google good salons in your area online. They are usually priced between 200-1200 UK pounds, depending on whether you use natural or synthetic hair, or want half or full head. I know Racoon extensions are the best, celebs like Victoria Beckham wear these ones. Priced around 800-1000 full head. They are glued/bonded or weaved into the root and have to be rebonded every 8-12 weeks to prevent damage. You will get an aftercare leaflet. Personally, I had a disaster with them years ago. I got half head extensions done for 200 pound,it was advertised as human hair but certainly wasn't a great brand / as they couldn't be washed or brushed! I had no aftercare advise, i didn't know they had to be taken out and rebonded so I kept them in to they matted and fell out, (along with my natural hair) Warning this can leave you with bald patches. So do your homework and research professional salons. Usually you should get them just to thicken your hair if it is fine, or add length and volume if you are growing out a style. Not as permanent thing, as they can destroy the roots over long periods of time.Temporary clip-ons from Sally's hair traders in the Uk are just as good for a quick fix, parties etc . They are human hair and come in good range of colours-and are more affordable.Goodluck!

nice copy and paste ..person above me.

and as for the first answer...no you cannot tell they are fake at all if they are done professionally.

you can get clip in's and i would recommed this unless you are willing to dish out over a $1000. make sure whatever you get that it is real hair and not synthetic because you cannot do anything with synthetic because they will melt. even with a blow dryer. if you get ones that are made of 100% remy hair, it is human and can me treated as your own.

to answer your question, no they are far from new. i just think that now it is ok for people to be more open in having thing sort of thing done....like acrylic nails.

people coming out with a more affordable type such as clip ins have made it easier access for people to give them a try.

i suggest making an appointmet for a free consiltation at a salon that does great lengths or socap. you never know till you talk to someone. you cannot get this type of info here and or over the phone. you will have to do it in person.
