there's fusion; the MOST damaging. when you take them off, your hair goes with them.
micro beading; not damaging at all. the beads just clamp the extension to your natural hair.
clips; you can do it yourself, but the hair usually isn't the best quality and you have to redo it every day.
sewing; they sew it onto a braid in your hair.
all these techniques last for around 6 - 8 weeks. aside from the clips.
