Who has hair extension's? or has had them in the past?

I suffered a stroke a couple of years ago-and was unable to maintain my long hair-I cut it very short to keep from being so upset everytime I tried to fix it. While I am still young enough (29) I would like to grow it out again--problem is my hair is very-very think and wavy-and when it grows just a bit from where I have been keeping it--it looks like a fire cracker went off in it--can not do anything with it-and I go get it cut again. If I get extentions -I could have best of both worlds-right? Long hair and the opportunity to let natural hair grow out--what are the pro's and con's of having extentions -? and is there a dif. in weave? thanks

:o)

I have hair extensions :) I have power ring hair extensions, which means that they're not bonded to my hair, it's a small ring attached to my hair with a piece of hair attached within the ring and my hair and clamped shut. I LOOVE THEM! You know what i paid over 600 in the salon and off ebay i bought them for $200 and applied them with a friend and they are as good as what i got in the salon :)

The pro for me is that they were worth every cent, i feel more conifdent and i love my new look.

Look around a lot of salons and find the best prices and methods, be honest, if they want over 1000 ask if they would do it for 900, try and bargain a bit, :o)

God Bless you xx

i had extentions for a while and they were great. the only problem was that they came out early because i went swimming a lot, but go for it!!

girl you just need to talk to your stylist and get some good products. hair extensions are so hard on your hair, so ya your hair will grow out, but it is gonna be really damaged when it does. so the question is do you want long hair or very unhealthy hair. see your stylist, she'll give you some good advice.

well i have had a fake pony tail because i have real thin hair and my scalp is sensitive so i used human hair instead of synthetic hair and it made my hair look a lot thicker but it looked real and now i cut all my hair off and it is growing back and driving me crazy i am know thinking about extentions but there are allot of different ways you can get extentions you can get braids, pony tails, you can even get it sued in your scalp or glued so you have a lot of options

hair extentions can be applied with glue directly on parted hair on your scalp, or sewn into a weave of hair,or track, that is your natural hair braided very close to your scalp. Both methods of affixing the extentions causes extreme hair breakage and hair loss. Look into a process called hair fusion, and have a professional do the process that will give you a beautiful head of hair, and will not cause your own hair to fall out. it is expensive but worth it.

ok first it depends on your nationality

if you are Caucasian it is very hard to keep extensions in your hair because it is so fine

you could get a stylist to glue the tracks in ( they go on your scalp not your hair), but that lasts from 2-4 weeks

it is better to have them removed at the salon the first time so you can see the best way to take them out.

If you have coarse hair you could get your own hair braided and tracks sewn in

with this style your hair can stay healthy because you wont be applying heat to it, the weave also lasts longer this way

If you are black i would also suggests micro braids

I strongly believe you wouldn't want to go through all tha hassle!! Trust me it's a lot of work and hair sheds, even if it's good quality hair, extensions really damage your hair and no you never see it grow, the extensions kill it, you need to just be patient and work with your hair, you should just get it straightened and work on it daily, people have to,

It is also very expensive, I once paid 560 dls just for the hair itself, you also need to get them done every 3 mos, it is a pain, and you need to keep them up, take care of the hair. Plus it hurts, you won't like all the trouble, but you be the judge. If you are willing to go through all that.
